Providing support to the Product Team that engineering could not supply
Overview
Worked with SumoLogic to design and implement custom ingestion and integration components that expanded how customers could reliably stream log and event data into the Sumo Logic platform. The engagement focused on building production‑ready, open‑source integrations that enabled cloud‑native services and developer frameworks to deliver data into Sumo Logic at scale. Rather than delivering one‑off integrations, the work emphasized reusable architectures, durability, and community adoption, aligning with Sumo Logic’s cloud‑first and developer‑centric strategy.
The Challenge
SumoLogic needed support integration requests from customers that Engineering was having challenges fullfilling due to the limited bandwidth and expertise. These invovled consuming log streams from common programming languages and sending them to the platform.
Key challenges:
- Marrying the ecosystem style with the core platform
- Ensuring coding and development standards that reflected SumoLogic
- Making sure streams were handled efficiently with out data loss at high-volume
Solution
Led the development of a varity of integration components which extended SumoLogic’s data collection capabilities. In a few weeks, we were able to resolve critical pay points from the product team from their customers.
